50 - Denying Oxygen To Trapped Miners & Cutting Off Medicine To The Elderly: Two More Ways Right-Wingers Increase Human Misery, Pain And Death

One of the major themes of Blast The Right is that right-wingers consistently cause increased human misery, suffering, pain and death.

Today we'll discuss two more ways they do so, one involving the suffocation of coal miners, the other the cutting off of sick people's medication.

All the while, the right accomplishes this evil with a smile on its face, boasting of their doing good deeds!

The profits of the coal industry -- a major GOP contributor -- are more important to right-wingers than any trapped miners running out of oxygen to breathe.

Just like the profits of the pharmaceutical industry -- another major GOP contributor -- are more important to right-wingers than any sick senior citizens who can't afford their medication.

As I close the podcast:

So there you have it: 2 hours of oxygen for trapped coal miners when 48 is recommended by everyone as a bare minimum, and, a bizarre and deadly gap in prescription drug coverage that will emotionally traumatize, physically sicken and sometimes kill our elderly.

Greed and a dollop of sadism leading to increased human misery, suffering, pain and death.

All in a good day's work for the right-wing.

Hey Jack,

Hi Mr. Clark,

Great stuff yet again!

Writing from Québec where we don’t have that serious of a problem, I was wondering, what do you respond to people that would argument that the same people who are going to hit the donut hole the first are the same that are going to get out of it the quicker (apart from the obvious fact that they might never recover from the hole)?

Cheers!

Just like a Liberal. Blaming all your problems on the government. How do you say the Republican party causes nothing but human misery and pain. We are all being subjected to your negativity against the United States government. You live in the greatest country in the world. Don't like it? Leave! Where else could you live and get away with such demeaning remarks about your government. Maybe you would be happy living in a country that's being run by a dictator like Sadaam Hussein? You would be kidnapped, tortured, or maybe killed for saying such things. However, the freedom the soldiers are fighting for give you the ability to pollute this great society with your depressing and tresonous ideas. Have a nice day!

D (at least you didn't hide behind an "anonmous" post)... just like a rightwingnut.. "label and dismiss" (my GOD how you just PROVED jack's POINT).... You just don't want hear any dissenting viewpoints. WELL GUESS WHAT MORON THAT IS PRECISELY WHAT THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON AND IS ALL ABOUT AND EXACTLY WHAT OUR MILITARY HAS FOUGHT AND DIED FOR FOR OVER 200 YEARS (check your nonbiased history books..IF you can read and comprehend but judging by you post but i'm guessing THAT is a longshot)...so if you don't like THAT .. TAKE YOUR OWN ADVICE.. LEAVE!!!! so let's THINK a little.... WHO is the TRAITOR here???!?!?!??

Hey can we all just stop the insults. We get the idea that you can both insult each other very well. I will leave you with one thing. If you did not make a profit from your job, or could make just as much money working less what would you do? I know what I would do, i would work less. It only makes sense, "social justice" with higher taxes for the rich, simply remove the incentive for hard work and injunity, do you think the rich became rich by accident?? NO they became rich via hard work, talent, and skill. If we tax the rich so much that there is little or no diffrence between the rich and the poor, why work at all. Just let the government do it for you. That way we can all become lazy, and apathatic about our own situations, we will all be equally poor. Ahhh oh well.....

It's late and I'm bored.... Without being too critical, what ignorance... The government shouldn't be doing anything regarding regulation. The repubs raised the amount of oxygen up to 2 hours...the dems want it up to 28... who gives a shit??? How about this... I work in coal mine because I choose to and if you are too stupid to realize that it's dangerous, then you fall under the liberal's beloved Darwinian "Natural Selection".
But I guess in the liberal world, next time I fall off my bike or wreck on the way to work or drink some sour milk... I can blame someone because we all need Big Brother in the sky to watch over us... Give me a break you pansies.
Well, I can get along without the government telling me or any business how to run itself... Just protect my right to fall off the bike like the Constitution used to do...that's all I ask. You can help the liberal up after he falls on his ass... just don't take my money for his stupidity of not being able to steer straight.

Still drinking neocon Kool-Aid as usual, I see. Why not try to listen to what Mr. Clark is saying? Oh I know why...because the Kool-Ad that you just drank has softened your brain, causing your neurons to not fire properly, and for you to be slow-witted and stupid! What elso is new for people like you, anyway?

30 seconds of talking points composed of bullshit, you listen. 30 miniutes of sense-you clam up. Just like most of the right-wing sheeple.

Great podcast - a must listen to
Jack Clark documents the right's wars on the poor, civil liberties, the right of workers to organize at work and obtain a decent working wage and work conditions, and against other countries who refuse to accept American domination. Jack provides all the sources so that you can see for yourself how the right is out to enrich itself at the expense of everyone else. Great job, Jack!

awesome show
Clark always backs up his statements against the right wing with fact and data, which gives him all the more credibility. As conglomerate media controlled by politics clouds the mainstream news media, Jack Clark, along with NPR and Democracy Now! have become my primary news source. Awesome podcast!

In-Depth, Meaty, Hardcore Knowledge
This podcast is not just entertainment, humor, chimp-bashing, or gee-whiz recap of the weeks events. Instead, it hits hard and in-depth on the world economic situation and how right-wing policies impact the poor and less advantaged all over the world. He examines Americas support of the World Bank, IMF,multinational corporations, etc., and connects the dots. This is a podcast for grown-ups. He gives good reasons why the right wing is NOT living up to its precious Bible, without putting down the Bible. As a Jesus-loving Christian and moderate Democrat, I respect this podcast for its subject matter. The grown-up manner of the speaker is just icing on the cake. He IS funny, but hes not trying to be, he just has a deadpan delivery but doesnt have to make jokes to make it interesting. The facts make it interesting and devastating.

A Breath of Fresh Air
Jack Clarks Blast the Right podcast is truly a breath of fresh air when it comes to political commentary. Jack is not like some commentators who simply climb on their soap box and state their own opinions as fact. Instead, Jack welcomes competent challenges to his way of thinking, and with logical analysis and sound research, debunks the lies, distortions, and self-deceptions of the right wing. I strongly recommend Blast the Right for people who seek the truth and care more about the long term health and well-being of the whole citizenry than the short term personal gain advocated by modern conservatives. Listen as Jack carefully shows how the high-sounding "God and country" rhetoric of the right wing is really just a smokescreen for policies that ultimately lead only to the increased misery, suffering, and death of the less fortunate for the particular benefit of the wealthy and the well-connected. And, if you find yourself in agreement, return to Podcast Alley to place your vote! Thanks!
