21 - More GOP Racism / "Same Intelligence"? Bush Lies About His Lies

In podcast #11, we discussed the GOP's racist "Southern Strategy," which began in 1968. Now we'll examine three current examples of GOP racist policies.

George W. Bush lied about the intelligence on Iraq. Now he's lying again when he claims that Congress saw the same intelligence he did.

I'm glad to see you taking on GOP racism head on. Being black, I realize that racists on the right and ignorant people on the left assume that I am genetically Democratic, so I avoid the topic since I'm not taken seriously. But I can tell you this: The GOP doesn't dislike blacks because blacks are blacks. If, as a block, we voted 90% for the GOP, I'm sure they would love us, and people from Haiti would gain automatic citizenship when they arrive in inner tubes.

One of the main reasons I will never vote Republican again is because of the way they condescend to us. This is their "brilliant" campaign policy for black churches and neighborhoods: "You're stupid to vote for the Democrats. What have they done for you lately?"

Well, for me at least the Democrats haven't called me stupid for exercising my right to vote for whom I choose. Should I call souther white males stupid for voting mainly for Republicans who advocate outsourcing their jobs and giving them “tax cuts” that amount to pizza money if they have a “good job” but many thousands to millions of dollars to the same people sending their jobs overseas?

Then there's this notion that blacks for Democratic because we want hand outs. Well, the majority of black voters don't receive hand outs. I certainly don't. Frankly I think we have the same dynamic going on between blacks and Democrats as we have between Christians and republicans:

Evangelical Christians see the Republicans calling themselves Christians and being conciliatory toward them. At the same time they see some of the more strident liberals being demagogic toward Christianity. This pushes them toward the Republicans.

At the same time, most of the time when Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Fox news et al mention black people, it's negative. They seem upset that we even dare to have an opinion. They simply don't campaign in our neighborhoods or at us on the tube. Yet these idiots blame us for not voting for them en mass. At the same time, the Democrats by comparison NEVER mention my race to me. They treat me like a citizen, like a valued voter. Not a black voter. Just a voter. Given a choice between the Democrats and the party that tortures, I'll go with the Democrats.

Are you the same jack clark that played for the SF giants? If not, he's probably more fun than you.

jack clark is a common name, but not to a right wing nut case.
The republicans need to be re-educated. In general they are too stupid to function in society. The previous post is a perfect example and the dim witted republican thought process. Personally I think right wingers are the missing link. The smarter ape men in the past tried to inter breed with them and that explains the semi human look some have, but clearly the intelligence is only slightly higher than a monkey or gibbon. They have no common sense either as this is a higher brain function. Their brains are under developed imo and this explains thier moronic positions ( like the terry schiavo joke ). These dumb creatures are dangerous to the planet and clearly whent they have too much power, like here in america, the wheels come off of normal society. Luckily they seem to have peaked THANK GOD.

Great podcast - a must listen to
Jack Clark documents the right's wars on the poor, civil liberties, the right of workers to organize at work and obtain a decent working wage and work conditions, and against other countries who refuse to accept American domination. Jack provides all the sources so that you can see for yourself how the right is out to enrich itself at the expense of everyone else. Great job, Jack!

awesome show
Clark always backs up his statements against the right wing with fact and data, which gives him all the more credibility. As conglomerate media controlled by politics clouds the mainstream news media, Jack Clark, along with NPR and Democracy Now! have become my primary news source. Awesome podcast!

In-Depth, Meaty, Hardcore Knowledge
This podcast is not just entertainment, humor, chimp-bashing, or gee-whiz recap of the weeks events. Instead, it hits hard and in-depth on the world economic situation and how right-wing policies impact the poor and less advantaged all over the world. He examines Americas support of the World Bank, IMF,multinational corporations, etc., and connects the dots. This is a podcast for grown-ups. He gives good reasons why the right wing is NOT living up to its precious Bible, without putting down the Bible. As a Jesus-loving Christian and moderate Democrat, I respect this podcast for its subject matter. The grown-up manner of the speaker is just icing on the cake. He IS funny, but hes not trying to be, he just has a deadpan delivery but doesnt have to make jokes to make it interesting. The facts make it interesting and devastating.

A Breath of Fresh Air
Jack Clarks Blast the Right podcast is truly a breath of fresh air when it comes to political commentary. Jack is not like some commentators who simply climb on their soap box and state their own opinions as fact. Instead, Jack welcomes competent challenges to his way of thinking, and with logical analysis and sound research, debunks the lies, distortions, and self-deceptions of the right wing. I strongly recommend Blast the Right for people who seek the truth and care more about the long term health and well-being of the whole citizenry than the short term personal gain advocated by modern conservatives. Listen as Jack carefully shows how the high-sounding "God and country" rhetoric of the right wing is really just a smokescreen for policies that ultimately lead only to the increased misery, suffering, and death of the less fortunate for the particular benefit of the wealthy and the well-connected. And, if you find yourself in agreement, return to Podcast Alley to place your vote! Thanks!
