16 - Jesus a Right-Winger? ROTFLMAO / Self-Described Coward Bill O'Reilly Is Still Hiding Under His Potemkin Village Desk

One of the most laughable things in the world is when right-wingers tell you with a straight face that were Jesus alive today, he would be allied with them, that Jesus would be a right-winger. (When I typed that, even my keyboard looked up at me and said "You gotta be kidding me!")

The analysts and guests that Bill O'Reilly allows to come on his TV show "The Factor" are, the vast majority of the time, carefully selected to make Bill look good and not offer any strong opposition to his right-wing ranting and raving. In addition, O'Reilly, by excluding from his show some of those whom he personally attacks, falls under his own definition of a coward.

You're wrong about O'Reilly never having a progrssive guest on for more than one segment. Tavis Smiley was unapologetic and agressive with him and embarassed him. He even replied to Bill with the words "you're funny" before correcting him. Bill cancled his next guest and kept Tavis on, I imagine to try to catch him in some sin and manufacture some outrage. But tavis kept his criticism on Bill so Bill couldn't wave his flag. It's hard to tell whether Bill was attempting to trip him up or to get Tavis to relent a little before he left.

As for Jesus being right wing, I am an evangelical Christian. It is with 100% confidence that I say to you that Pat Robertson would call Jesus a Devil or a Commie if He first appeared now. George Bush would call Him a dangerous Terrorist.

You should do some research into the politics of churches with food pantries and homeless shelters. I bet they are mostly left leaning.

Thanks, Shreveport Dude, for bringing this appearance up. To tell you the truth, even after you mention it, I only have a vague memory of it. Maybe this is one of those segments that I said I may have forgotten about, but that you could count on the fingers of one hand. Has Tavis ever been back? Probably not much, if at all, if he showed up O'Reilly.

Ok, I agree Jesus would not associate with politics. But for you to say that our president, a dedicated Christan himself, would say Jesus is a terrorist is way out of line.

Darksaturos, is George W Bush a Christian? He may run around wearing his religion on his sleeve for all to see, but I think Christians should be judged by their walk rather than their swagger. Would I say GWB is a "dedicated" Christian? No. I'd say he's is dedicated to using Christianity to further his political agenda.

As a highly visible representative of "Christianity" he does the true Christian movement no favors by making them appear bigoted, selfish, boorish and foolish. He misleads us, and separates those who act in Christian compassion from those who aren't so familiar with the teaching of the Bible (but like the idea that its parables can be twisted to make them feel good about earning as much money as possible - for fun, compare Luke 19:11-26 to Matthew 19:24 and figure out what the Bible is really talking about)

Christians unite! Reject the false idol Bush today (and anyone else who professes to be Christian, but doesn't act like one should - Pat Robertson, I'm looking at you...)!

Great podcast - a must listen to
Jack Clark documents the right's wars on the poor, civil liberties, the right of workers to organize at work and obtain a decent working wage and work conditions, and against other countries who refuse to accept American domination. Jack provides all the sources so that you can see for yourself how the right is out to enrich itself at the expense of everyone else. Great job, Jack!

awesome show
Clark always backs up his statements against the right wing with fact and data, which gives him all the more credibility. As conglomerate media controlled by politics clouds the mainstream news media, Jack Clark, along with NPR and Democracy Now! have become my primary news source. Awesome podcast!

In-Depth, Meaty, Hardcore Knowledge
This podcast is not just entertainment, humor, chimp-bashing, or gee-whiz recap of the weeks events. Instead, it hits hard and in-depth on the world economic situation and how right-wing policies impact the poor and less advantaged all over the world. He examines Americas support of the World Bank, IMF,multinational corporations, etc., and connects the dots. This is a podcast for grown-ups. He gives good reasons why the right wing is NOT living up to its precious Bible, without putting down the Bible. As a Jesus-loving Christian and moderate Democrat, I respect this podcast for its subject matter. The grown-up manner of the speaker is just icing on the cake. He IS funny, but hes not trying to be, he just has a deadpan delivery but doesnt have to make jokes to make it interesting. The facts make it interesting and devastating.

A Breath of Fresh Air
Jack Clarks Blast the Right podcast is truly a breath of fresh air when it comes to political commentary. Jack is not like some commentators who simply climb on their soap box and state their own opinions as fact. Instead, Jack welcomes competent challenges to his way of thinking, and with logical analysis and sound research, debunks the lies, distortions, and self-deceptions of the right wing. I strongly recommend Blast the Right for people who seek the truth and care more about the long term health and well-being of the whole citizenry than the short term personal gain advocated by modern conservatives. Listen as Jack carefully shows how the high-sounding "God and country" rhetoric of the right wing is really just a smokescreen for policies that ultimately lead only to the increased misery, suffering, and death of the less fortunate for the particular benefit of the wealthy and the well-connected. And, if you find yourself in agreement, return to Podcast Alley to place your vote! Thanks!
